TERRY ENGLISH
Colonial Marine Armour
Authorised Replica

______________________________________________________________

  • These authorised replicas of Terry’s Colonial Marine armour are made in the same way as our existing kits, from 2mm HIPS plastic in silver metallic finish, using bucks constructed direct from a set of Marine armour made by Terry himself..
These are a complete suit, including cuirass, greaves, abdominal pad and helmet.
They will come complete, hand painted the same as the originals, using the same webbing/strapping as Terry’s replica sets.
The armour will be padded in the same locations, shoulders, knees, kidney plate etc.
The helmet will use a steel pot replica M1 helmet with plastic plates cast from Terry’s and will be complete with IR sight installed and radio pouch along with all the usual bits such as helmet camera and microphone etc.
Each suit will come with a certificate of authenticity and armour plates will be complete with a stamp embossed into them, as supplied by Terry.

This is without a doubt one of the best sets of science fiction armour there has ever been.  Not bad considering it was debuted in 1986. Royal Armourer Terry English made these for the original movie and still does today, if you’re lucky enough.
This authorised set is cast direct from a post production set made by Terry, specifically for this purpose and is the only authorised copy of Terry’s suits in production.

The armour itself is formed from 2mm HIPS plastic and is of very solid foundation.  Great care has been taken to ensure all the detailed edges and angles are captured to reflect the original film used suits. Individual hammer marks and minor irregularities are present in the forms, exactly reflecting the hand made nature of the suit we used to make the bucks from.
The cuirass and greaves are made to Terry’s original pattern, and as such they are a ‘one size fits all’ set. They are suitable for people of up to 44″ chest and around 6’1″ tall, with the calves being suitable for up to around 17″ in diameter.
They may fit people outside this range, but they will probably not ‘clamshell’ together correctly as they are supposed to.
The strapping too is true to original form in terms of colour, texture and size.  The buckles are also correctly sized and styled.

Laser cut aluminium brackets are also fitted to the back. The abdominal pad is the correct grey colour, fitted with wadding and double stitched. The paint scheme is always evolving as we find more information on the original used colours, and we try to colour match the paints from our original production made (but un-used) gorget plate, but rest assured, they are painted in an accurate pattern using the same Humbrol paints, it’s just no-one is actually certain of which specific colours were used, even Terry himself isn’t 100% certain.

Armour FAQ’s

Can you do this as a kit?
Alas, no.

We are only offering these as fully made, complete suits only.
***NO KIT OPTION.***
Due to people having copied both our, and Terry’s suits without permission, it was requested that we do all we can to prevent this any further and after discussion we concluded that this was the most sensible way to limit the possibility of re-casting.

Apologies to those people who won’t like this decision, just direct your ire to those who do re-cast other peoples work without permission.
Remember, if something looks absolutely spot on, always ask to see their working, progress sculpts etc. They should be more than willing to show them.

Will we be doing sets for larger people?

Not in the short term, I’m afraid. Maybe, at some point if we get capacity.

Can you do just the parts?

No. At this point, we won’t be offering any splits, bits, or kits.

Can you do character paint schemes?

Yes. We can replicate the original screen used schemes where we have the references.
They do incur an extra cost, as do any additional items such as lamps and other accessories.

Can I use this armour for Airsofting?
Whilst we have used it ourselves for airsofting, we can’t guarantee it won’t break.
It is only plastic after all…
We’ve shot at it with a TM M4 Recoil and it was fine… We’ve also hit it with a VSR, running at 500fps, point blank and it was NOT fine… That went through.

But the biggest issue is the 200lbs of meat inside it. Bouncing off trees, falling on the floor etc.
It’s not designed to stand up to that.

So look badass at your own risk!
